I’ve been playing Winning Eleven (WE) since their installment in original Playstation. When the opportunity comes to have WE in PSP, surely, it’s the first thing to grab. What you see in WE 9 for PS2 are duplicated in the PSP. The enjoyment of playing with either analog or a directional cursor.
However, what sadly in this package is the lack of tournament type of game, considering that we can have our own version of Champions League among those super clubs. Other thing, which is not too significant is the international team with a pseudonym players. You can change the name, but it’s a bit tedious. Well, for this, anyone can wait for the option file distributed by someone over the net for anyone to feel WE realism.
For the skill option and any other things, to me, it’s a PS2 version condensed in small UMD without a sound.

If your looking for a great soccer SIM, get Winning Eleven for PsP Xbox or PS2. The gameplay is as near to true soccer/futball as there is anywhere right now.

If your looking for more of an Action or Arcade style soccer/futball match get EA Fifa World Cup 2006.

WE9 – Superb Control Complexity, Superb Passing Options and Control, Near Perfect Scale of players – goals and the pitch itself. PsP WE9 has no Commentary or end to end camera, but it is mobile. Graphics arnt quite as good but yet feel more realistic than EA. respectable frame rates. After about 30-35 matches, I feel the computer AI is good, doesnt really cheat and the refs are fair on both sides.

EA FIFA World Cup 2006 – Decent Control, some inovative features like the first touch control system (WE9 has this too but isnt quite as intuitive), Horrible Scale – the pitch and the goals are way too small, the boxes are way too small constricing play a lot. Too Fast for real soccer/futball players, Might be Too Slow for most Action/Arcade lovers. Good Graphics but maybe too “CG”. Lagging frame rates at times with too many players in view. After about 30-35 games I find the other teams computer AI to be superb however your controling teams AI is horrible, the refs appear fair on tackles except near tackles (where the player doesnt quite fall) the ref calls those on the player but not on the pc (for the most part).

So in conclusion it may be that Winning Eleven isnt such a perfect game, but if your a SIM-Soccer/Futball player, it stands well over and above EA FIFA games, this from the mouth of someone who played soccer in leagues year round for over a decade, has been a gamer for almost two decades and also owns both games. (WE9-PSP, EA-PS2)

As a personal note, im actually thinking of ways to sell the EA game to a trade in store.

    -Cheers!
